Alma Ata University Partnered with Taipei Medical University (TMU), Taiwan. The MOU Signing was carried out by the President of Alma Ata University, Prof. Dr. Hamam Hadi., MS., Sc. D., Sp. GK at TMU Campus, Taipei, Taiwan on January 17, 2018. This agreement includes Exchange activities for both students and lecturers, Joint Symposium, Joint Research & Publication and Curriculum Development. The collaboration was one of series of cooperation of Alma Ata delegation visits to TMU as a response to the visit of the TMU delegation to the Alma Ata University in February and December 2017.
During a four-day visit at TMU, the delegation had the opportunity to discuss with TMU Vice President, Prof. Chao-Ching Huang pertaining the possibility of getting a scholarship from the Taiwan government for Alma Ata Faculty Members. Except the meeting with TMU Vice President, the Delegation also met with several Deans such as Dean College of Nursing, the Dean of College of Nutrition, the Dean of College of Public Health, the Dean of College of Global Health and Development and the Dean of College of Management. The meeting with the Deans were a good opportunity for Alma Ata to proceed the cooperation as written in the MOU into more tangible collaborative activities.
The visit which was led directly by the Alma Ata University President, Prof. Dr. Hamam hadi., MS., Sc. D., Sp. GK also had an opportunity to meet with the director of the Taiwan Centre of Disease Control, Prof. Tzay-Jinn Chen and the director of Wang Fang Municipal Hospital, Prof. Chin-Hsin Lee to initiate a collaboration on the treatment of tuberculosis and dengue fever in collaboration with the Yogyakarta and Central Java Provincial Health Offices.
