Among the topics raised in the workshop this time is with the policy of an independent campus we improve the quality of educational outcomes and strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of Alma Ata University. To strengthen the resilience of campus existence in the future. The independent campus policy opens up direct competition which includes independence to carry out accreditation, open new study programs and free students to get the widest possible opportunity.
Independent campus if we do not understand it well, we will face the fierce competition that is very open from other universities not only domestic campuses but also foreign campuses which are currently starting to emerge in this country.
Universities could not be careless even though accreditation is freed, it could be that this causes ignorance of study programs that do not yet have sufficient accreditation. This ignorance can kill the existence of the study program concerned in a not too long time. For study programs that are already good accreditation is free to see the opportunities that exist in the market and are very likely to dominate. However, there must also be adjustments that need to be made to accommodate today’s market needs.
“Some have argued, an independent campus policy can make study programs and strong campuses become stronger – but instead study programs and campuses that do not yet have good accreditation have the potential to become even friendlier and even die if they fail to pursue better ranks.” Said Prof. Dr. Hamam Hadi, M.S, Sc, D., Sp.GK, Chancellor of Alma Ata University. This is what must be understood together to develop study programs at UAA who have already built a study program outside of its home-based.
Students must be given independence to spend Free learning. Students must be given the freedom to spend 3 semesters outside the study program facilitated by the study program and campus. These three semesters will be used separately to study outside the study program at the same university one semester and the remaining two semesters are spent in the realm of industry and BUMN. This is expected to cover the GAP of scholarship and experience of graduates produced by the university.
Therefore, the study program must adjust the curriculum to be more friendly with the policies implemented by the government. By giving opportunities to students to learn more in the workforce to be addressed. The other side, by spending an internship for two semesters, this can also facilitate an internship to provide an assessment and at the same time screening of the best personnel who can eventually be drawn to work in the company.
In addition to internships, another thing that must be given to students is the freedom to study in other dictionaries either through earning credit, credit transfer programs, sister universities and others. Therefore, the campus through study programs must prepare the scheme starting from planning to evaluation and assessment of what has been achieved by students in accordance with existing measurements at the university. 3 semesters outside the study program facilitated by the study program and campus. These three semesters will be used separately to study outside the study program at the same university one semester and the remaining two semesters are spent in the realm of industry and BUMN. This is expected to cover the GAP of scholarship and experience of graduates produced by the university.
